A bicyclist was struck and killed on U.S. 441 in Columbia County on Thursday morning.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol incident report, at around 12:15 a.m., a 39-year-old Lake City man was traveling southbound in a sedan on U.S. 441, north of SE Sundial Place.
A 31-year-old Lake City man was riding a bicycle on the southbound west shoulder of U.S. 441, and he was heading northbound.
The FHP report states that the front right side of the sedan collided with the bicycle, and the bicyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. The driver of the sedan was not injured.
The names of the individuals involved in the accident were not released, per FHP policy.
