Michael John Isaacs, Jr., of Weirsdale, Florida, passed from this life on May 7. He was 63 years old.

Michael was born in Grove City, Pennsylvania, on December 20, 1959. He was the first child of Lois Lee and Michael John Isaacs, Sr. Michael relocated to Fort Lauderdale from Pennsylvania with his father when he was in high school. He called Florida home for the rest of his life.

A longtime acrobatics instructor, “Coach Michael” influenced thousands of lives: first in Fort Lauderdale and then in greater Ocala. Both old and new students of Michael’s attest to the impacts of his expert instruction. Michael’s many friends knew him as kindhearted, eager to converse about horses or his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers, and always willing to give (or, when it came to motors, receive) a helping hand.

Michael was a devoted son. He drove his mother Lee to her prayer group each Wednesday and was the “Lamont” to Michael Sr.’s “Fred” of “Sanford and Son.” Michael also never lacked for an occasion to speak affectionately of his daughter, Ashly, of Boston, Massachusetts, who will be married in October.

Michael’s friends and family will miss his daily phone calls, the ease with which he could make anyone a friend, and the care he gave to those lucky enough to call Michael a friend of their own. Along with his daughter, Michael leaves to mourn his loss his mother and younger brother, Eric (Susan), of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In death, Michael joins those who have gone before him: his father and sister, Shelly.

A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at New Covenant United Methodist Church, 3470 Woodridge Drive, The Villages, FL, 32162, on Tuesday, May 16, at 1pm. Memorials may be made to Beauty’s Haven Farm and Equine Rescue, Inc. or the American Cancer Society.
