A lawn maintenance crew in Ocala had a scare this morning when their lawn mower caught on fire.
After spotting the flames, the workers immediately distanced themselves from the lawn mower and called 911. Ocala Fire Rescue’s Engine 1 unit was quickly dispatched to the 2700 block of NW 49th Avenue, according to a social media post from OFR.
Upon arrival, Engine 1’s crews observed a lawn mower that was engulfed in flames in a parking lot. The crew members sprang into action and extinguished the fire within two minutes of arriving on scene.
Ocala Fire Rescue stated that the lawn mower had overheated moments before the fire ignited.
There were no injuries reported.
