A woman was killed on Friday morning, and an elderly man was critically injured, after their vehicles collided on State Road 200 in Marion County.

At around 7:30 a.m., an 89-year-old man from Dunnellon was traveling southbound on State Road 200, south of County Road 484, in an SUV. At the same time, a second SUV, driven by a 43-year-old Ocala woman, was traveling northbound on State Road 200, according to the Florida Highway Patrol incident report.

The second SUV’s driver and sole occupant was also rushed to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her fatal injuries at 8:03 a.m.
