Morriston motorcyclist killed after crashing into deer

A 44-year-old man from Morriston was killed on Monday morning after his motorcycle collided with a deer.

Shortly before 5:10 a.m., the man was riding a 2022 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on County Road 241 in Alachua County. When he was near the intersection of SW 183rd Avenue, his vehicle struck a deer on the roadway, according to the Florida Highway Patrol incident report.

FHP stated that after the impact, the man was ejected from his motorcycle, and he landed on the east grass shoulder.

The man was transported to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville where he was pronounced deceased.

The incident report stated that it is unknown if the man was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
