To the Editor:
Until a new animal shelter is built, the last thing Marion County needs is an ice rink. An ice rink would serve a very small section of the population compared to an animal shelter that benefits everyone. The shelter is so overcrowded that animal control can’t keep up with it all. Every day, there are dogs being hit by cars and dying. This county needs to get real and start protecting our animals. Build a new shelter now. An ice rink can wait.
