Marion School district is failing to pickup our children in Fort McCoy

To the Editor:

All of the parents in the Fort McCoy area have been struggling with this for the last 6 months. The school board, lacking adequate transportation for our children, is now putting our children in danger and not communicating with parents. Because they don’t have enough drivers, we get the phone call every day for the last 6 months that our children have to sit at the bus stop for an extra 45 minutes to an hour to wait for their bus to come back and pick them up. That means our children are on the side of the road where any human trafficker can pick them up for well over an hour every morning. In the evening, in order to keep from having to do two trips, they have been double loading the buses and sending our children home on double-loaded, unsafe buses. And then today comes. Not only did they double load the bus and send it out, they took all our children back to the school. All our children are now over 45 minutes late home. Our whole neighborhood and half of the neighborhood around this is all freaking out where our children are, without even as much as a phone call. So, if you could please bring a limelight onto this school board and what they are doing with our children out here, in the fact that they are taking chances with our children and expecting us to pick them up and take them to school when they fail to pick our children up to make sure that we don’t lose our children to some trafficker picking children up on the side of the road. Or we have to worry whether or not our children are standing up on the bus, loaded so deep that if one of them got into an accident, we would end up with a lot of hurt kids, double-loaded. So, please, I implore you to make a major spill on this situation with the Fort McCoy School Board system for our children and for all the other parents out here struggling with the same problem. Thank you for the consideration.
