Extended lane closures on CR 484, Sunset Harbor Rd for resurfacing

Marion County officials announced lane closures for multiple months on stretches of County Road 484 and SE Sunset Harbor Road as crews work to mill and resurface the roadways.

Lane closures for CR 484 will be in effect from Marion Oaks Course to SW 20th Avenue Road beginning on Sunday, April 28. The closures will take place between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. each day and should last through June 28, according to county officials.

On Monday, temporary lane closures will begin on SE Sunset Harbor Rd from S U.S. Hwy 441 to SE 105th Avenue. Those lane closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day and will last through October 29.

Superior Asphalt, Inc. will be milling and resurfacing the roadways. Workers and equipment will be located in the county right-of-way.

The improvements are funded by county taxes that have been designated for the projects.

According to the county, crews will place barricades and signs to direct traffic through the work zones and travelers should expect delays and use alternate routes when possible.
