The Ocala Calligraphy Guild will host free youth and adult calligraphy classes at a local community center later this week.
The group will gather at the Mary Sue Rich Community Center on Wednesday, April 10, from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for the youth (ages 7 to 14), and from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. for adults (age 15+).
Classes will be held on the second Wednesday of each month at the center, which is located at 1821 NW 21st Ave. in Ocala.
The classes focus on creative lettering and hand lettering and are a great introduction to learning calligraphy.
During the youth class, students will learn hand lettering that can be used to create handmade projects for themselves and their families. No prior experience with hand lettering is necessary and all levels of experience are welcome, according to event organizers.
