Crumbl Cookies making progress on first Ocala location

A cookie brand that has opened hundreds of locations across the country in the past few years is making brisk progress on its first spot in Ocala.

Crumbl Cookies is still building out its new shop at 4414 SW College Rd Suite 325, within the Market Street at Heath Brook.

The new Crumbl is located just two doors down from Great Greek Mediterranean Grill, which is opening its first location in Ocala at the former Pie-O-Mine.

In addition to the rotating menu and famous pink boxes, the Ocala location will feature the open-concept kitchen and simplistic design for which the brand has become known.

The open concept at the restaurant allows customers to view the entire cookie-making process from “balling, to baking, to dressing.”

Although the location in Ocala will be its first in Marion County, Crumbl currently operates locations in Alacha (Gainesville) and Lake (Clermont) counties.

Crumbl was co-founded by cousins Jason McGowan and Sawyer Hemsley, who opened the first location in Utah in 2017. In the past several years, the company has seen an explosion in growth and has become one of the fastest-growing cookie companies in the United States.

In 2022, while the company was growing its presence in Central Florida, there were just over 300 Crumbl locations in the country and around 30 locations across the state.

Crumbl is now approaching 1,000 locations across the United States and Canada, with over 70 locations across the state of Florida.

Each week, the cookie company offers four new flavors that are inspired by “cakes, candies, pies, and desserts of all kinds,” according to its website.
