Belleview man accused of receiving child porn of 12-year-old from another state

A 32-year-old Belleview man was recently indicted for allegedly receiving multiple videos depicting sexual acts involving a 12-year-old child from another state.

On Thursday, April 11, U.S. Attorney Roger B. Handberg of the Middle District of Florida announced the return of an indictment charging Kyle Burbank with two counts of receipt of child sexual abuse material.

Kyle Burbank
Kyle Burbank, 32, of Belleview

According to court documents, between January 5 and January 17, 2024, Burbank allegedly received five video files over the internet. These videos depicted child sexual abuse material from a 12-year-old child in another state.

An investigation was launched by Homeland Security Investigations, with assistance from the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office and Rossville Police Department in Indiana.

Investigators reviewed several social media accounts belonging to Burbank. The indictment alleges that these accounts contained “multiple online interactions” between Burbank and “other minors.”

Federal agents arrested Burbank on April 4, 2024. He was transported to Marion County Jail, where he is currently being held without bond.

An indictment is merely a formal charge that a defendant has committed one or more violations of federal criminal law. Every defendant is presumed innocent unless, and until, proven guilty.

If convicted on both counts, Burbank faces a maximum penalty of 40 years in federal prison, including a five-year minimum mandatory term of imprisonment on each count.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
