Don M. Robert, age 94, of Ocala, Florida, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 14, 2024.
Don was born in Abbeville, Louisiana to Ethel and Frank Robert. He served in the Navy as an Aviation Electronics Technician during the time of the Korean War. He graduated from LSU and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Don leaves a legacy of faith and hope. He served his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ all of his life pastoring many churches and congregations, first in south Florida, then throughout Georgia and finally in the Ocala area. He loved sharing Jesus with everyone and did brief missions in Liberia, Africa and the Philippines. He was an avid golfer, having gotten 5 holes in one, the last being Easter weekend at age 85. He had a green thumb and kept a lovely yard with lots of beautiful plants.
Don was preceded in glory by his beautiful wife of 66 years, Margaret Griffin Robert. He is survived by:
His 3 children, Duane Robert (Charlotte) of Blackshear, GA, Donna Robert Priest (Guy) of Ocala, FL, and Linda Robert of Marietta, GA, His 6 grandchildren, Ashley Priest Buglino (Bobby), Amanda Priest Riddle (Jason), Anna Priest Wilson (Josh), Sarah Priest Gardner (Chris), Maggie Priest Gilbert (Ryan), and Brett Robert, His 12 great-grandchildren Ava, Phoenix, Hannah, Lillie, Stella, Sawyer, Zeke, Ellie, Izzy, Haddie, Alice, and Olivia, His brother Dr. Jon Robert (Sue) of Arkansas and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration service will be held at the home of Anna and Josh Wilson for family and friends on Saturday, April 20, at 11 a.m., with lunch and fellowship following. A private graveside farewell will be held Sunday morning at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
