A partially derailed train along a street in northwest Ocala has blocked all eastbound and westbound traffic in the area this afternoon.

The Ocala Police Department announced the partial derailment at around 2:45 p.m. on Thursday, June 19.

According to OPD, a train partially derailed in the 500 block of NW 10th Street.

As a result of the partial derailment, all eastbound and westbound traffic lanes on NW 10th Street, from U.S. Highway 441 to NE 8th Avenue, are currently blocked and inaccessible.

No injuries or damage were reported as a result of the incident, according to OPD.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes, as the roadway may be blocked for the next “several hours,” according to police.
