Chipotle is planning to construct its fifth location in Marion County since 2023, and fourth in Ocala, targeting a site in Silver Springs Shores next to several other recently developed commercial plots.

A conceptual plan for the new Chipotle was reviewed by the Marion County Development Review Committee on Monday.

The new restaurant is sought on a parcel situated between Caliber Car Wash (125 Bahia Avenue Court) and Aldi (7891 Bahia Road).

The site is also located just west of a new Tractor Supply that is under construction.

Records show that the 1.2-acre property will house Chipotle that is approximately 2,385 square feet in size. The restaurant will feature indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a “digital drive-thru” lane known as the “Chipotlane.”

According to the development review application filed with the county, the site is being developed by WMG Development, LLC, which is based in Winter Garden. The property is owned by Maricamp Land LLC, a company registered to John Rudnianyn.

Chipotle opened two new locations in Belleview and Ocala last year. In 2023, the business opened another location along East Silver Springs Boulevard.

Founded in 1993 by Steve Ells, Chipotle Mexican Grill received a significant investment from McDonald’s in 1998 and expanded from a small, Colorado-based operation into a massive multinational brand. McDonald’s eventually sold its stake in the company in 2006.

As of December 2025, Chipotle operates 4,000 locations across 48 U.S. states and the District of Columbia, maintaining a workforce of tens of thousands of employees. It is also a publicly traded company that is primarily owned by The Vanguard Group and BlackRock.
