A businessman who founded a bank chain with multiple locations in Ocala has just acquired a recreational vehicle resort between two popular lakes in the Ocala National Forest for $2.3 million.
CMJP Resorts Inc. purchased the Lake in the Forest Resort and RV Park from B & D Enterprises of Ocklawaha Inc. for $2,300,000 on Thursday, April 30, according to a deed filed with the Marion County Clerk of Courts.
The Lake in the Forest Resort is located on Half Moon Lake at 19115 SE 44th Street in Ocklawaha, in the middle of the Ocala National Forest.

The RV park features a variety of amenities, including lakefront spaces and full hook-ups for sites, a recreation hall, a laundry room, a heated pool, WiFi, a playground, and a walking trail, among others. It is pet-friendly and also offers arts and crafts events for individuals of all ages.
State corporate records show that CMJP Resorts Inc. is owned by Peter E. Batty, the chairman and co-founder of Gulf Atlantic Bank. Although that company operates its main branch in Key West, there are also locations on SE 36th Avenue and SE 17th Street in Ocala.
In addition to his role with the bank, Batty leads Atlantic South Processing, Inc., United Atlantic Insurance Group, and ICAMCO Realty Inc., which is a property management and real estate firm. Batty is also the president and co-owner of the largest funeral service provider in Monroe County.
The sale of another RV park comes just a few months after the Penney Park Estates Mobile Home Park, which is located less than a mile southwest of John Travolta’s home in Ocala, was sold for $1.7 million. In September 2024, the Ocala Sun RV Resort was sold for $13.6 million.
