A nearly 15-acre horse farm in Summerfield was just sold for over $1 million, joining several other high-ticket equestrian real estate transactions in Marion County this year.

Joao and Nicole Giannasi sold the property, known as JG Ranch, to the Hannah Gordon Supplemental Needs Trust and Rebecca Gordon on Tuesday, July 14, for the $1,031,500. A deed of sale for the transaction was recorded by the Marion County Clerk of Courts on Wednesday, July 15.

Located at 5665 SE 140th Street, the 14.72-acre ranch features a 1,564-square-foot, three-bedroom, two-bathroom home that was built in 2004.

According to an online listing, the home is complete with a wood-burning fireplace, elevated views from every window, a screened outdoor living area, a saltwater pool with a Baja shelf, a hot tub, and an adjacent pool house equipped with a full bathroom, summer kitchen, patio, and outdoor shower.

The equestrian features on the property include a wood-frame, center-aisle barn with five 12-by-12-foot stalls, a tack room, a feed room, and dedicated equipment storage. Additional amenities include a 36-by-36-foot pole barn, a 12-by-16-foot climate-controlled hobby shed, six individual paddocks, and a 260-by-120-foot clay-base arena.

The sale of JG Ranch continues a steady wave of large equine and agricultural real estate transactions in Marion County throughout this year.

Just weeks prior, another 10-acre equestrian estate in southwest Ocala was sold for $1.325 million.

In the weeks leading up to that sale, a 40-acre farm in west Marion County was sold for $1.2 million, another Ocala horse farm was sold for $1.5 million, and a local equine breeding facility was sold for $5 million.

Before those sales, a 600-acre tract in west Marion County was acquired for $6 million by a luxury horse farm developer, and a northwest Marion County farm was sold for $2.45 million.
