Mirian Smith Griffin daughter of Sylanus Smith and Blooming Russell was born on June 7, 1932 in Boynton Beach, Florida. Mirian departed this life on February 19, 2020.
Mirian was employed as a secretary for New York Transit Authority.
On December 20, 1954, she was united in marriage with levi Griffin. From this union, three children were born, Michael, Vanessa, and Fredrick(deceased).
Mirian leaves to cherish her memory: son, Michael(Jacque) Griffin of Brooklyn, NY, daughter, Vanessa (Brian) Griffin Baker of Hampton, Georgia, two grandchildren, Fredrick Griffin Jr, Lakeya(Tristan) Griffin Martin, daughter-in-law, Phyllis Griffin, four great-grandchildren, Keyshawn Griffin, Kallai Griffin, Kyrie Griffin, Tristan Martin, sister, Virginia Smith Bugler of Boynton Beach, Florida, brother, Bertram Smith of Boynton Beach, Florida , and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Life Celebration for Ms. Griffin will be held on February 28, 2020, 11am at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, 55 SW 3rd Avenue, Ocala, Florida 34475. Rev. Dr. Lorenzo S. Edwards will be conducting the words of comfort. Visitation will be at Sellers Funeral Home on Thursday from 12pm to 6pm. Family and friends are asked to meet at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church at 10:30am on Friday to form the funeral cortege. No viewing following the eulogy.
