A 76-year-old man has been arrested by Ocala police for allegedly possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material.
The Ocala Police Department apprehended Donell Decenzo on several charges related to child pornography on Thursday, April 18.
“This action was taken after an investigation prompted by a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children,” stated OPD on social media.
According to Ocala police, the cyber tip indicated that Decenzo was using an online account to store multiple files depicting child pornography. An OPD detective launched an investigation, which led to identifying Decenzo as the user of the account in question.
A search warrant was obtained for a residence belonging to Decenzo. During a search of the home, law enforcement found a computer that had an online chat between Decenzo and another individual.
OPD stated that the online chat “indicated Decenzo was sending child sexual abuse material to another person.”
Decenzo was arrested and transported to Marion County Jail on April 18. He was released three days later after posting a $40,000 bond, and he is facing the following charges: possession of child pornography (two counts) and distribution of child pornography (two counts).
A court date has been scheduled at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21, according to jail records.
