Jose Arroyo, 78, of Ocala passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Select Specialty Hospital in Oxford. He was born September 27, 1941 the son of Ignacia Mendoza and Jose Arroyo Diaz. Jose was a native of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico and moved to this area from Queens, New York in 2007.
Jose was a peace officer, trained horses, and held down various jobs on the back stretch. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family and helping others.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Arroyo; children, Josef, Daniel, and Jael; and eight granddaughters.
A drive-through visitation will be held for family members and friends from 1:00pm-2:00pm on Sunday, August 2 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services (910 E Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, FL 34470).
