To the Editor:
The city of Ocala is now charging something they call “fire protection assessment.” I received a bill for $190.00 which covers to September, then in October will be another bill for another $190.00.
They offered a plan to do this in payments with a service charge.
The city of Ocala is charging for a service that doesn’t exist and that they were charging before on a monthly basis. They were sued and the court ruled it as an illegal charge. We were supposed to have a refund, which never was received.
