Ocala Fire Rescue responded to reports of a grass fire near SW Broadway Street shortly before 11:30 a.m.
Engines 1 and 3, Tower 1, Rescue 3, and Battalion Chief 11 arrived and found flames that were heading up the embankment adjacent to State Road 40.
The crews used multiple hose lines and contained the fire before it threatened the neighboring roads.
No injuries were reported.
