Ocala – Lawrence K. Sauey, 91, peacefully passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Select Specialty Hospital in Gainesville, Florida.
He was born in Phillips, Wisconsin on May 31, 1931. He moved his family to Ocala from Baraboo, WI in 1974. In Baraboo he worked for a family company Flambeau Plastics in sales. When he moved to Florida he was the Vice President of Sales for Closet Maid Corporation also a family owned company at that time. Thereafter he formed an independent manufactures sales representation firm called L.K.S. Associates, Inc. from which he retired a number of years ago. He was a member of many organizations including the Elks Club, Kiwanis, Masons and Shriners. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and had fun playing golf until shortly before his death. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 51 years, Marilyn L. Sauey, on February 11, 2008. He is survived by his daughter, Cindy S. Bethune, and her husband Chris of Ocala, son, Jeffrey L. Sauey, and his wife Patricia of Ocala, grandson, Christopher Bethune, and his wife Tiffany of Greenville, NC, grandson, Matthew L. Sauey, and his wife Erin of Ocala, grandson, Stephen R. Sauey, of Ocala, great-grandson, Wyatt Bethune of Greenville, great-grandson, Arlo L. Sauey, of Ocala, companion, Mary Ware, of Ocala, many nieces and nephews, and many good friends.
A memorial service for the celebration of Larry’s life will be held Saturday, February 4, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 1915 SE Lake Weir Ave, Ocala, Florida. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Shiners Children’s Florida Extended Care POPS, 12502 USF Pine Drive, Tampa, FL 33612, the Elks Club of Ocala, 702 NE 25th Ave, Ocala, FL 34470, or St. John Lutheran Church.
