The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting which occurred Tuesday night at 935 CR 229-P in Wildwood.

The victim, Nigel Williams, was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center by atrauma alert helicopter. He later died of his injuries.
The sheriff’s office indicated it did not appear to be an intentional act. There are no suspects at this time. Detectives are asking that if you have any information to call (352) 569-1600 or call CrimeLine at 1-800-423-TIPS.
