Deputies investigate ransacked Summerfield home where firearms were stolen

A man called the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday after discovering that his nephew’s Summerfield home had been ransacked.

When a deputy arrived, the man said he had gone to his nephew’s home to do lawn work when he discovered that someone had entered the residence and a shed on the property.

The deputy walked through the house, located in the 14700 block of SE 90th Avenue, and reported that every room in the house had “been completely gone through.” The man said he wasn’t sure what was missing except for a television set that was taken from the entertainment system in the living room.

The deputy talked with the nephew on the phone and was told that three firearms – two rifles and a shotgun – were missing from the master bedroom closet. A collector BB gun also was taken from another bedroom, the report says.
