Woman nabbed on outstanding drug charges after sheriff’s sergeant recognizes her

Tiana Patricia Wright

A Marion County sheriff’s sergeant arrested an Ocala woman who was wanted on an outstanding warrant early Monday morning after seeing her on South Paine Avenue.

After the sergeant stopped the white Chevy Cruz driven by 20-year-old Tiana Patricia Wright at 12:30 a.m., he confirmed that she was wanted on the outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court on multiple drug charges. The sergeant took her into custody and deputies searched her car before having it towed.

During the search, deputies located a marijuana cigar in the driver’s side door pocket, as well as seven individually packaged crystalline rocks and a small plastic bag containing a brown powder inside Wright’s purse, a sheriff’s office report states.

The individually wrapped rocks weighed seven grams and field tested positive for methamphetamine, while the brown powder tested positive for MDMA/ecstasy, the report says.

Wright was transported to the Marion County Jail and charged with failure to appear in court on the original charges of possession of methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana less than 20 grams. She also was charged with possession of synthetic narcotics (Schedule I or II) with intent to sell, possession of amphetamine (Schedule I, II or IV) with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana not more than 20 grams.

Wright, who lives at 2826 SW 140th Pl., was held with no bond on the failure to appear charges and $6,000 bond on the new charges.
