John Mark Shuffitt was born on June 16, 1961 to Bruce and Margaret Shuffitt in Bowling Green, Kentucky. John Mark Shuffitt received his formal education at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He furthered his education at The University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. John Mark Shuffitt accepted Christ as his savior at a tent revival at the age of six and was united with First United Methodist Church. John Mark Shuffitt was united in holy matrimony with Suzanne Hunt on June 16, 1984 in Logan County, KY. Their union was blessed with two children.

He was employed by Marion County Extension/UF IFAS as the Livestock Extension Agent for 26 years. He enjoyed making his girls happy, Gator Football and Baseball, music, academia, and his dogs.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory wife, Suzanne Hunt Shuffitt; daughters, Kate and Sarah Shuffitt; father, Bruce Shuffitt; mother, Margaret Shuffitt; and sister, Shelia Bush.
