Frances Carolyn Rose

Frances Carolyn Rose was born in Paducah, KY in 1931. She was the only child of W.L. ‘Tommy’ Tomlinson, and his wife, Lorraine. She moved with her parents to Ocala as an infant and attended school in Ocala, graduating from OHS in 1949.

She married Carl G. ‘Happy’ Rose, Jr. (deceased) and is survived by her four children, Gay Foster, Carl G. Rose III, Lynn Keith and Ann Rose; five grandchildren, Cathi Cook, Dustin Darby, Eric Darby, Darlene Barlows, Kim Steger, Sarah Shoup; several great grandchildren and another on the way.

Carolyn was always the life of the party because she enjoyed living life to the fullest. She moved to Vero Beach for a time, and enjoyed beach life. Whenever she had sand on her feet and saltwater on her skin, she was happiest. She raised all her children in Ocala, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a member at the Ocala Elk’s Lodge, and some favorite birthdays and special occasions were celebrated there. She was a free spirit, loved to travel, and practiced yoga. She had great artistic talent and her hand painted cards and shirts were treasured gifts. She died of Parkinson’s on August 16, 2018.

You will be missed and remembered, Gee.

Services will be graveside 10:00 am Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens, 5050 SW 20th St., Ocala, FL.
