Six-week-old baby dies in four-vehicle crash in Marion County

A six-week-old baby died in a four-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in Marion County.

Zoe Robles Vallespi of Gainesville had been secured in a carseat in a 1996 Chevy Express that at 4:08 p.m. collided with a tractor trailer truck that had drifted into the wrong lane on State Road, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The tractor trailer truck, driven by 36-year-old Lacosta Romone Clyde of Daytona Beach, then left the roadway and collided with a fence.

The car in which the infant had been traveling, driven by 28-year-old Ashley Borja of Ocala, then collided with a 2007 Ford F-150 driven by 42-year-old Phillip Morris of Ocklawaha. He suffered minor injuries.

A motorcyclist, 36-year-old William Weakland Jr. of Ocala, ran into debris from the crashes and his motorcycle landed on its side.
