29-year-old Ocala man jailed on child abuse charge

Easu Jones

An Ocala man is in the Marion County Jail for allegedly choking a 13-year-old during a domestic dispute.

Easu Jones II, 29, was charged with domestic child abuse without great bodily harm after the incident, which happened Tuesday at the residence where he and the juvenile victim live.

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy responded to the incident location, where another deputy reported seeing Jones holding down the victim and hitting him before separating them, according to the sheriff’s office report.

The victim told a deputy that Jones had a hold of him by the throat and he couldn’t breathe. He said he then went outside the residence, where he was taken to the ground by Jones and punched. The deputy observed a cut on the right side of the victim’s face with some dried blood on it. The victim’s left ear and left temple area were also swollen, the report said.

Jones told the deputy the victim always talks back to him and he was disciplining him. He was taken to jail, where he is being held on $5,000 bond. Jones is scheduled to appear in Marion County Court on Nov. 5.
