Woman jailed after man friend claims he was punched and stabbed with box-cutter

Kristina Hope Putt

A Silver Springs woman was jailed on a battery charge Wednesday after being accused of stabbing her man friend in the hand with a box-cutter the day before and then smacking him in the head and face with a closed fist.

The victim told Marion County sheriff’s deputies that he and 38-year-old Kristina Hope Putt had been in a violent altercation and she “kept hitting and pushing him on the chest and would not let him leave,” a sheriff’s office report states.

A witness told deputies that she saw Putt hit the victim in the chest several times and she wouldn’t let him walk away. She said the victim didn’t retaliate against Putt. And she added that the couple had been arguing for a couple of days but it didn’t get physical until Tuesday when Putt punched the victim in the face and chest with a closed fist multiple times, the report says.

Putt told deputies the victim wanted to leave but she blocked his path and closed the door, which “accidentally” hit him in the hand. She denied any other physical contact, the report says.

Putt was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail, where she was charged with battery. She was being held on $1,000 bond and is due in court Dec. 27 at 9:30 a.m.
