No injuries reported in blaze that destroys Ocala residence

Multiple units from Ocala Fire Rescue recently battled a residential structure fire that destroyed a home.

Ocala firefighters battle a blaze that destroyed a home Friday night in the 400 block of NW 18th Avenue.

Crews responded to the blaze on Friday in the 400 block of NW 18th Avenue at 11:58 p.m. When they arrived on scene, they found the residence to be about 70 percent consumed by flames, a report states.

Crews quickly completed a primary search of the structure and attacked the flames. The fire was under control by 12:18 a.m.

There were no injuries in this Friday night blaze that destroyed an Ocala home.

Firefighters then searched the structure for fire extension and doused hot spots. The fire was completely extinguished by 12:25 a.m.

The structure was unoccupied at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire hasn’t yet been determined. Officers from the Ocala Police Department and crews from Ocala Electric Utility also responded to incident.
