Country music legend Wynonna Judd is coming back to Ocala.
The popular singer and her band, The Big Noise, will kick off the Independence Day holiday weekend with a performance on Friday, July 3 at the Ocala Drive-In Theatre. The event is being presented by the Reilly Arts Center.
Judd, who last performed in Ocala in June 2019 at the Reilly Arts Center, has been on stage for more than three decades and has sold more than 30 million albums. She also has recorded 20 number one hits and has received more than 60 industry awards.
As one half of the legendary mother/daughter duo “The Judds,” Wynonna once was dubbed by Rolling Stone as “the greatest female country singer since Patsy Cline.” Some of her top songs include “Mama He’s Crazy,” “Why Not me” and “Grandpa, (Tell Me ‘Bout The Good Ole Days).”
Wynonna and her band, The Big Noise, led by her husband, Cactus Moser, released their debut album in February 2016. The album includes track features from Derek Trucks, Jason Isbell, Susan Tedeschi and Timothy B. Schmit.
Reilly Arts Center members can begin purchasing tickets on Thursday, June 4 at 10 a.m., with regular tickets going on sale the next day at the same time. Those attending the concert will be able to enjoy it from the comfort of their own vehicles at the drive-in, located at 4850 S Pine Ave. in Ocala. Go to ReillyArtsCenter.com for more information.
