Ocala Police detectives are searching for man who was wearing a blue Marion County Fire Rescue sweatshirt when he made sexually inappropriate comments to two juvenile females.
The incident took place March 21 in College Park Plaza. The juveniles said they were approached by a black male who identified himself as being 28 years old and after learning they were underage, said he “did not care” how old they were, a police report states.
Detectives spoke to officials at Marion County Fire Rescue, who said they didn’t have anyone on staff matching the man’s description. They also said there weren’t sure how he had acquired one of their branded sweatshirts, the report says.
Police say it’s important for area juveniles to be aware of their surroundings and to be on the lookout for the suspect’s vehicle, which is pictured above.
“If you find yourself in a situation like this, call the police immediately or find an adult near you and notify them of the incident,” a post on the police department’s Facebook page says.
