A 71-year-old Ocala woman was killed in a car accident in south Ocala on Friday.
The accident took place at the intersection of SE 31st Street and SE 36th Avenue, around noon.
A vehicle driven by a 47-year-old Summerfield man was traveling south on SE 36th Avenue, towards the intersection with SE 31st Street. A second vehicle driven by a 71-year-old Ocala man was traveling west on SE 31st Street towards the intersection with SE 36th Avenue.
Both vehicles entered the intersection and the second vehicle was struck on its passenger side. As a result of the impact, that vehicle was propelled in a southwest direction until coming to a final rest on the eastbound side of SE 31st Street.
The identity of the deceased passenger was not released by Florida Highway Patrol.
