Dog adopted after spending two years at local animal shelter

A dog recently found his forever home after spending two years at a local animal shelter.

According to the Humane Society of Marion County, a dog named Rajah was adopted on Monday, April 18 following a 735-day stay at its shelter. He had also previously spent some time at the shelter in 2016 and 2017.

When Rajah was initially found as a stray six years ago, he was tied to a stop sign near Vanguard High School. Described as a toy-toting and fun-loving ball of energy by HSMC staff, he was brought to the shelter and initially had issues getting along with other dogs and cats.

During his time at the shelter, Rajah received continuous support and training, and he is now able to happily interact with cats, children, and some dogs.

On its Facebook webpage, the Humane Society of Marion County stated, “We would like to thank the adopters for giving him his well-deserved chance at a life out of the shelter. He will surely be missed by the staff and volunteers who had the pleasure of aiding him on his road home.”
