In a social media post, Habitat for Humanity of Marion County stated that the nonprofit organization is looking for skilled and unskilled construction workers, retail and office workers, and individuals who can assist with events.

There are multiple ways that members of the community can volunteer:

  • Group volunteering Colleagues, congregants, students, friends, and family members can join together for a fun and engaging experience in giving back to the community.
  • Construction volunteering – No specific skills are needed to lend a hand with construction, and on-site instruction is provided. These volunteers assist with hammering, painting, installing flooring, laying sod, and other tasks that are involved in building a home.
  • ReStore volunteering – Thrift store volunteers assist with cleaning and sorting donations, stocking shelves, and providing customer service.
  • Administrative Office volunteering – These volunteers assist with newsletters, filing, data entry, shredding, answering phones, and additional projects throughout the year.
  • Event volunteering – These volunteers help with events, such as the annual Habitat Ocala Strawberry Festival, and it is a fun way for people of all ages to assist with raising funds to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Marion County.
