A 39-year-old man from Hawthorne was killed on Friday afternoon after his pickup truck overturned in Alachua County.
At around 1 p.m., the man was traveling southbound in a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck near the 9200 block of Holden Park Road in Hawthorne, according to the Florida Highway Patrol incident report.
FHP stated that the pickup truck left the roadway and traveled onto the east shoulder “for reasons to be determined.” The pickup truck then proceeded to overturn, and the man was ejected from the vehicle.
Paramedics arrived on scene and transported the driver and sole occupant of the pickup truck to UF Health Shands Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The name of the driver was not released by the Florida Highway Patrol.
