Marion school district earns national awards for public relations efforts

Marion County Public Schools recently received national recognition for its public relations efforts during the 2022-23 school year.

The National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) received over 1,800 submissions for its annual awards competition. After the submissions for this past school year were reviewed, MCPS was recognized with the following awards:

According to MCPS, a total of five school districts in Florida managed to “capture award-winning attention from the National School Public Relations Association.” In addition, the Marion County school district was one of only eight nationwide recipients of this year’s Award of Excellence.

All of the winning entries will be recognized by the National School Public Relations Association during its annual meeting and “Celebration of Achievement” event at the 2023 NSPRA National Seminar later this month in St. Louis, Missouri. The association will also spotlight winners in a digital display at the seminar, on its website, and in e-newsletters that will be sent out during the upcoming school year.
