Ocala country singer releasing single with Jelly Roll

A local country singer is preparing to drop a new single featuring genre-bending singer-songwriter Jelly Roll.

At midnight on Friday, August 25, Kendall Tucker – an independent country-rap artist from Ocala – is releasing his latest single, “Dragging Me Down,” on all major platforms.

According to Tucker, his musical influences range from Eminem to Randy Travis. He enjoys all genres, which has helped him combine country, rock, and rap to make unique music.

Over the years, Tucker has recorded and collaborated with multiple artists including Colt Ford, Bubba Sparxxx, Uncle Kracker, and Craig Campbell, to name a few.

Tucker’s newest single, “Dragging Me Down,” features a collaboration with Jelly Roll, a singer who won three CMT Music Awards earlier this year for his Billboard Country Airplay chart-topping song “Son of a Sinner.” In 2021, Jelly Roll also topped the Mainstream Rock chart with his single “Dead Man Walking.”

Jelly Roll is featured in the documentary Jelly Roll: Save Me, which is currently streaming on Hulu and explores his struggles with mental health and addiction.

A metal band from Michigan, STATE of MINE, also worked with Tucker and Jelly Roll on the new single.

Tucker is excited for everyone to hear “Dragging Me Down” when it releases at midnight.

“Not only do I think it’s a good song, but I think it’s going to help a lot of people going through some hard times in their life,” stated Tucker in a video posted on his Facebook page.
