Marguerite Mary White
1937 – 2023

Marguerite Mary (Henry) White passed away on September 15, 2023, after a long illness in Jacksonville, FL surrounded by her family.

Born in Wilmington, Delaware on September 13, 1937, Marguerite was the daughter of the late William and Catherine (Oat) Henry. She was predeceased by her husband Leonard J. White and infant son William; her sister Anna C. Petrucci and brothers, William, Lawrence, Joseph, and Michael Henry.

Marguerite will be dearly missed by her children, Arlene Hutcheson (Kenneth) of New Smyrna Beach, John L. White (Mary Ann) of Orlando, Kevin White (Teresa) of Jacksonville, Suzanne Emery (Scott) of Jacksonville and Leonard J. White Jr. (Mary) of Trinity; her twelve grandchildren, Sarah Arms (Jacob) , Zachary Hutcheson (Christine), Nathaniel Hutcheson (Emily), Gabriella Hutcheson, Ryan Emery, Michael White, Christian White, Rebecca Emery, Tyler White, Haley White, Allison White, Jadyn White and seven great grandchildren, Micah, Henry, George, Fisher, Owen, Nora, Parker and her sisters, Cassie Cathell (Paul) of Wilmington, Delaware and Patricia Coll (David), of Ocean View, Delaware.

Marguerite met her husband Lenny at the Bottle and Cork, in Dewey Beach, Delaware. They were married in 1959 in Wilmington and moved to Ocala, FL in 1980 for his work with Dayco Corporation. They were married for 28 years before his death in 1987. She loved her life in Ocala as she always wanted to live in Florida. Moving there was a dream come true for her. In September of 2017 she moved to Jacksonville, Florida to be closer to her family there.

She went about living her life as the kindest, most loving, faith-filled, positive and supportive wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother anyone could ever hope to have. She was the person you asked for advice, shared your job promotions, family news and also encouragement for discouraging life events. She would pray her rosary and knew that if she could do nothing else, her prayers would help.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 5 SE 17th Street, Ocala, Florida. The Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Ocala, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.
