Barbara Jane Warren (BJ) 84, of Dunnellon, passed away on January 24th 2024, under the loving care of her family and Vitas Hospice House in Lecanto. BJ was born on January 10, 1940, in Wilmington, Delaware to the late William and Anna Laura Loveless. She was a member of St, Paul’s Episcopal Church where she was baptized and confirmed at the age of 16 in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

BJ moved to this area in the early 1980’s where she worked at the Plantation Inn and Golf Resort for many years as a server and manager. In her later years, she worked at Oysters Restaurant for life-long friends, Pam and William Bunch.

BJ was a member of the Pilot Club and enjoyed the work they did for the community. She supported various groups throughout the years ranging from disabled veterans to protecting the environment and animals. She loves this area of Florida, with all the natural beauty and history. The area nurtured her love for gardening which was evident with the various Roses that bloomed around her home for many years. In particular, she loved the ocean where she enjoyed many a trip to Daytona Beach spending hours on the beach with her family. A life-long learner, mom had a passion for reading and leaning about a range of topics. She loved good conversation and the company of her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.

Formally from Indiana, Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James Loveless. Survived by one brother, William Loveless, Jr. Children; Daniel Warren (Shelley), Debra Beatty, Kathryn Lee (Mark), and Charles Warren (Sue) Grandchildren; Tony Warren, Tera McAlpin, Wyatt Warren, Britney Nunley Christopher Beatty, Morgan Beatty, Leslie Beatty, Kristin Ekker, Samantha Armas, Mallory Braswell, Sumner Lee, Matthew Warren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was truly loved and will be missed.

Florida Celebration of Life service will be scheduled at a later date. Private cremation will take place under the direction of Brown Funeral Home and Crematory in Lecanto, Florida.
