Marion K-9 trailing in vote for ‘Top Dog’ across Florida

Vote for Rex! A K-9 officer at the Marion County Sheriff’s Office is trailing his Elite 8 matchup and is in need of votes. 

As of Tuesday afternoon, K-9 officer Rex is trailing K-9 Tank in the competition to be named the Florida Sheriff’s Association’s Top Dog.

Tank, who works for the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office, currently leads Rex by over 100 votes.

The vote has been neck and neck since last week, when both dogs advanced into the next round. 

To vote for Rex, visit the K-9 March Madness webpage and click on the check mark over his photo. Voting is open through Thursday, April 4 at 3 p.m. EST for the competition.

There are only four head-to-head matchups and eight dogs left in the competition.

Rex sailed through the first two rounds of the competition, edging out K-9 officer Highway in the first round and K-9 officer Dottie in the second round.
