The Marion County Parks and Recreation Department is inviting residents to take part in guided kayak tours on the Rainbow River on every second Saturday of the month.
The series will begin on April 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Brick City Adventure Park (1211 SE 22nd Road in Ocala).
This month’s trip will launch out of KP Hole Park and will feature a 4-mile, kayaking tour down the Rainbow River. Officials say the excursion will be a leisurely downriver trip through preserved wetlands.
Attendees are encouraged to bring sunscreen, a hat, a towel, a change of clothes, and a snack or light lunch for after the trip.
The guide will meet at the Brick City Adventure Park at 9:00 a.m. All attendees will be driven in passenger vans to the launch site. All equipment, travel, and entrance fees are included in this paddle outing.Â
Ages 8 and older are welcome; minors must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is open until April 12 and is $40 per registrant.
