Katherine Mae Carlisle, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2024, in Ocala, Florida. Born on December 4, 1935, in Dunnellon, Florida, Katherine’s life was a rich tapestry woven with love, laughter, and a deep-seated faith that guided her through her 88 years.

Katherine was the cherished matriarch of her family, a beacon of light and strength. She is survived by her loving children, Gail Jerrells, Robin Williams, Christine Wigglesworth and her husband Clyde, Michael Carlisle, and Deanna Carlisle. She was a guiding force in the life of her niece Karen Parrish, who was like a sister to her. Her legacy of love extends to her grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews, she loved them all even the ones she didn’t meet, who will forever hold memories of her kindness in their hearts. She was preceded in death by her dear parents, Warren and Lucy Ezzell, her sisters Charlotte Etta, Merrell Williams, her brothers Perry Ezzell, William Leonard Ezzell and Fred Eugene Ezzell, her daughters Sharon Lynn Mathis and Sheila Ann Brown, and her beloved husband, Bob Carlisle.

Katherine’s life was one of vibrant engagement with the world around her. Her hands were rarely still, as she found joy in the art of crochet, creating beautiful pieces that warmed the bodies and hearts of those she loved. Her baking was legendary, with the aroma of her delicious treats often wafting through the home, drawing family and friends to her kitchen for a taste and a warm embrace. Katherine had the unique ability to make people smile and laugh, even in their darkest moments.

Her faith was the cornerstone of her existence, and she lived her life as a testament to the gospel of Christ. Katherine was a storyteller, and she shared her life story with anyone who would listen, not just in words but through the way she lived each day with grace and compassion. Her unwavering belief was an inspiration to many, and she was a guiding light to her family and community, leading by example in how to live a life of purpose and devotion.
