William Findlay, age 71, passed away surrounded by family and friends, in Ocala, Florida. Bill was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 24, 1952 to the late Jack and Dolorita (Onusaitis) Findlay.

Bill is survived by his wife, Cheryl Findlay; three stepchildren, Erica Robbins (Joe), Courtney Huxoll (Charles “Hux”) and Colton Godwin; sister, Susan Walsh (Jim) and brother, Greg Friend (Elizabeth); six nieces and nephews, Eric Walsh, Katherine Mellom, Valerie Godier, Lucas Friend, Adam Friend and Ben Friend. He also leaves behind his six grandchildren; Everly, Beckett, Henry and Noah Robbins and Jex and Brix Huxoll.

After completing high school, Bill worked for Illinois Bell Phone Company for 24+ years. He then moved to Stephenville, Texas; “In the middle of nowhere,” Bill would always say. This is where he started his venture with becoming the owner of several McDonald’s franchises. Bill later moved to Ocala in 2004 where he then owned and operated seven locations.

Bill enjoyed traveling the world with his wife, Cheryl. He would probably say that his trip to Antarctica was his “Best Trip” ever! He was a technology fanatic who had to have the newest, most innovative gadgets on the market. He was always “FIXN TOO” get things done…

Bill was an avid animal lover, especially horses and cats. He was a charter board member for VOCAL – Voices of Change Animal League since they were established in 2015; being a huge advocate of their Spay and Neuter Program.
