Hikers are invited to join the Marion County Parks & Recreation’s guided tour of Indian Lake State Forest later this week.
The hike will take place on Friday, April 19, at 8 a.m. at Brick City Adventure Park, which is located at 1211 SE 22nd Road in Ocala.
Attendees will be given the opportunity to hike a recently scouted, brand new trail that is not yet on maps. The hike will feature scenic vistas including beaches, swamps, lakes, sinkholes, and creeks filled with cypress trees.
The hiking loop is approximately 2 miles long, with picnic tables, benches, and swings along the path.
Visitors are encouraged to bring a hat and sunscreen, as the hike will last around two hours. Snacks or light lunches may be consumed after the hike.
The group will meet at Brick City Adventure Park at 7:45 a.m. on Friday and depart at 8:00 a.m.Any participant under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
The cost to participate in the hike is $5 per person.
