A Popeyes in south Ocala that was closed for several months is now open once again, with the ownership group offering free chicken and a chance to win free sandwiches for a year during the restaurant’s grand opening this week.
The Popeyes located at 2175 SW Highway 484 in Ocala will host its grand opening on Friday, November 22 at 5 p.m.
During the celebration on Friday, the restaurant will offer the first 50 vehicles in the drive-thru a free, 4-piece signature chicken, which carries a $13 value.
In addition to other giveaways, the restaurant will also raffle off a chance to win free chicken sandwiches for a year.
The reopened location is owned by TICE Popeyes Florida, a company that hopes to be “the leading Popeyes Restaurant Franchisee,” according to its website.
Last month, TICE reopened a location in Titusville, Florida, with a similar chicken promotion.
There are currently four Popeyes in Ocala, including a new location that opened at the Paddock Mall earlier this year and another Popeyes along Pine Avenue that reopened after an extended closure due to a collapsed roof. The fourth location is situated at 3420 W Silver Springs Boulevard.
Before the Popeyes along SW Hwy 484 reopened, the location had been closed down for an extended period, with Ocala-News.com staff confirming its closure dating back to at least April of this year.
The restaurant’s reopening comes amidst a constant state of development in that area of Ocala along SW Hwy 484.
The Popeyes is situated less than a mile from a new Wawa that opened in September, a SuperWash that opened in June, and a food truck park that opened in March.
It is also down the road from a new Pepsi distribution center that opened in April, and from another distribution center that will soon feature a medical marijuana production and cultivation facility.
