A new luxury apartment complex that is under construction in southwest Ocala will add 225 more units to the city’s multi-family housing offering when it opens.
Pomona is currently under construction at 4821 SW 48th Avenue. The new complex is situated just west of HCA Florida West Marion Hospital, near State Road 200.
Recently shared photos by Flying High in Florida, an aerial imagery and 3-D mapping company in Dunnellon, show significant progress at the site since Crest broke ground in March.
According to its website, Pomona will begin pre-leasing its units sometime in 2026.
The complex, which is being constructed by Alabama-based developer Crest, will be comprised of seven, three-story apartment buildings, a leasing center, and a clubhouse.
It will offer one, two, and three-bedroom apartments designed for “modern living,” according to its website.
Additionally, Pomona will feature resort-style amenities that include a pool, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a coffee bar, and resident lounges.
Pomona was designed by architect Fifth Dimension design and is being constructed by Crest. It will be managed by Carter Haston, according to a press release issued by Crest. The engineer on the project is local company Kimley Horn.
The new apartment complex will be situated next to several new businesses that have opened in the past two years, including Miller’s Ale House, Great Greek Mediterranean, Crumbl Cookies, and Chick-fil-A. A new Planet Smoothie is also under construction nearby.
