The second Tropical Smoothie Cafe to open in Ocala was just sold for $2.5 million.

The new smoothie shop was sold by Corta Ocala, LLC, to North Lake Real Property, LLC for $2,500,000 on December 19.

Located at 8410 SW State Road 200 in Ocala, the cafe officially opened for business on Tuesday, December 23. The new business is part of the Corta Commons retail development. Earlier this year, that plaza welcomed the addition of both Sprouts and Chipotle.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe is situated just northwest of its neighbors in the plaza.

According to state corporate records, North Lake Real Property, LLC is registered to David Scott of Port Saint Lucie.

There are currently over 1,600 Tropical Smoothie Cafe locations across the United States, including over 200 in Florida and one other location in Ocala (2505 SW College Road).

Tropical Smoothie Cafe is currently open Monday and Tuesday, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The transaction marks the sale of yet another large commercial retail space whose construction was completed recently.

Earlier this month, a shopping plaza in east Ocala was sold for $3.125 million.

Just before that, another shopping plaza in west Ocala was sold for $42 million.

A new 7-Eleven along Baseline Road in Ocala was sold for $9.2 million.

A Firestone Complete Auto Care near downtown Ocala was sold for $4.54 million.

Another shopping plaza along SW College Road in Ocala that also features a Tropical Smoothie Cafe, was sold for nearly $7 million.
