The Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company has experienced a historic, record-breaking run of horse sales this year, having already registered over $213 million in transactions following the conclusion of its June event.
After generating $185 million across events in March and April, the company added another $28 million to its total during the June Two-Year-Olds in Training and Horses of Racing Age Sale.
Located at 1701 SW 60th Avenue in Ocala, the organization hosted its penultimate event of the year last Wednesday and Thursday. The $28 million generated during the three-day sale easily outpaced the 2025 OBS June Sale, which saw 502 horses sold for a combined $25.6 million.
The June sale saw hundreds of horses change hands, setting a new record mark for the month through the $1.4 million sale of a filly related to a Triple Crown winner.

That horse was purchased by Speedway Stables and became the highest-priced horse ever sold at an OBS June sale.
The transaction surpassed the previous June record of $975,000, which was established just last year when a chestnut Curlin filly named Feminism sold to Gus King.
Before the June sale, the historic spring run was highlighted by an April auction that produced an all-time organizational record transaction when Zedan, a son of Flightline, sold for $10.5 million.

In addition to the record-breaker, the April event saw two other horses eclipse the $1.75 million mark, four others break the $1 million mark, and approximately 36 horses surpass $500,000.
During the three-day March sale, which concluded with a record-setting $72,050,000 in total gross sales as 443 horses changed hands, Nyquist was sold to Boyd Racing for $2 million, tying her for the second-highest priced horse ever sold at an OBS March sale.

Following the remarkable spring and summer events, the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company is now preparing for its final event of the year, the October Yearling Sale. That sale is scheduled to take place on October 6 and October 7.
